Some of Boca Raton’s finest community members will put on their dancing shoes and look for a perfect 10 at “Boca’s Ballroom Battle.”
The eighth annual dance showcase starring Boca Raton community leaders will take place Aug. 28 at Boca Raton Resort & Club, 501 E. Camino Real, Boca Raton. Patterned after the popular “Dancing with the Stars” television program, it will kick off at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, entertainment and the dance showcase, followed by an after party in the Palm Court.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the George Snow Scholarship Fund.
“This is the do-not-miss event of the summer as eight of our community’s most recognizable personalities take to the dance floor for a good cause,” said Tim Snow, president of the George Snow Scholarship Fund. “Not to mention that coveted ‘mirror ball’ trophy.”
This year’s “Boca’s Ballroom Battle” community dancers are Brian Altschuler, executive director of human resources, Boca Raton Regional Hospital; Peg Anderson, volunteer; Elias Janetis, founder, MobileHelp; Frank McKinney, real estate “artist” and best-selling author; Holly Meehan, photographer and volunteer; Chris Nichols, founder and CEO, Nichols Wealth Partners; Donna Parlapiano, senior vice president, Franchise Operations & Corporate Real Estate / AutoNation; and Wendy Sadusky, designing housewife.
This time last year two of four co-chairs, Paula Pianta and Dr. Albert Dabbah, were hard at work perfecting their dance routine for the 2014 “Boca’s Ballroom Battle.” This year they have been hard at work with their committee and co-chairs Anthony Pianta and Robin Dabbah to make this the most exciting “Ballroom Battle” yet.
