Introducing Snow Cares: Supporting Scholars Beyond the Scholarship
At the George Snow Scholarship Fund, we believe that a scholarship is more than just financial support—it is a commitment to our scholars’ success throughout their college journey. That’s why we created Snow Cares, a program designed to provide our students with the essential resources, encouragement, and support they need as they transition from high school to college and beyond.
What is Snow Cares?
Snow Cares ensures that every George Snow Scholar feels prepared, supported, and connected as they begin their college experience. The program includes two key initiatives:
The Scholar Pack
Each year, at our High School to College Transition Program, every scholar receives a Scholar Pack, a carefully curated collection of essential items designed to ease their transition into college life. Whether they are living on campus or commuting from home, these items help set them up for success.
Each Scholar Pack includes:
- Large Rolling Travel Duffel – A durable and spacious travel bag for move-in and trips home.
- Backpack – A sturdy bag for carrying books, laptops, and daily essentials.
- School Supplies – Notebooks, pens, folders, and other must-haves for academic success.
- Academic Planner – Helping students stay organized and on track.
- USB Drives – Essential for saving assignments and coursework.
- Socks – Comfortable, high-quality socks for everyday wear.
- Shoes & Slippers/Slides – Practical footwear for class, dorm life, or relaxing.
- Blanket – A cozy comfort for late-night study sessions or dorm room relaxation.
- Toiletry Kit & Shower Caddy – Personal care items and storage for easy dorm bathroom access.
- Plastic Utensil Set & Water Bottle – Reusable and convenient for meals on the go.
- Luggage Tags – Keeping their travel gear easily identifiable.
- Dental Kit – Ensuring they have the basics for a fresh start.
- Shirt – A reminder that they are part of the George Snow Scholarship Fund family.
