Position Summary:
The Student Financial Services Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting The George Snow Scholarship Fund’s mission to help hard working high school seniors and college students in Palm Beach and Broward Counties to graduate from college by providing financial aid and wrap-around support services.
This position provides administrative, programmatic, and communications support to ensure the smooth operation of the scholarship application cycle and scholar support programs. The ideal candidate will be organized, tech-savvy, student-centered, and passionate about education/higher education and equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes the George Snow Scholarship Fund at high school presentations, college fairs, and other events; serves as a representative of the organization, sharing our mission and opportunities with students, families, donors, and community partners.
- Assist the Scholar Services Department team with all aspects of the scholarship application process by helping guide scholar applicants through the entire experience from initial inquiries to final submission; provides clear instructions, answers questions, and supports a positive and equitable application process.
- Manage and maintain accurate, well-organized, and up-to-date applicant and scholar data and records.
- Monitor and track applicant eligibility for various scholarship programs.
- Prepare applicant information and supporting materials for review period.
- Interview, maintain communication, and engage with applicants and scholarship recipients throughout the year.
- Responsible for reviewing scholar paperwork and initiating payment of scholarship funds. Oversee the administrative process that ensures students receive their scholarship disbursements accurately and on time. This includes verifying scholar documentation and coordinating with the student, the Scholar Services Team, and school financial aid offices.
- Assist with the execution of scholarship events. Support planning and implementation of events such as award ceremonies, presentations, orientations, and community outreach.
- Administer Scholar Support Services that are a part of our wrap-around support services initiative.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1 – 3 years working in a higher education or high school role preferred.
- Experience working with college or university scholarships is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proven experience leading or contributing to projects, meeting tight deadlines, and juggling multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities and resolving potential obstacles while maintaining a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively. We’re looking for a self-starter – someone who is comfortable taking initiative, following through on assignments, and contributing positively to a team-driven environment.
- Willingness to learn, improve, and grow both professionally and as a member of the team. We value curiosity and a proactive mindset: someone who is willing to learn, open to feedback, unafraid to ask questions, and comfortable sharing ideas that can make our work stronger.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and cultural competency. Must be comfortable drafting professional correspondence, presenting information clearly in public settings, and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, including students, families, donors, and community partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. A moderate level of proficiency in Excel is especially important, including experience with organizing spreadsheets and data entry.
- Experience with CRMs and data management is preferred. Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure major gifts, grants, corporate and community partnerships, and individual contributions, with a particular focus on Broward County.
- Program Expansion: Lead the planning and execution of programming and fundraising initiatives for Broward County to introduce and establish the George Snow Scholarship Fund’s presence in the area.
- Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and community leaders to achieve fundraising goals.
- Campaign Leadership: Work with the Vice President of Development to drive and manage campaigns, annual funds, and other development initiatives to support the Fund’s long-term goals.

- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Vice President of Development, other senior leadership, and staff to create strategic plans that support fundraising and community outreach goals.
- Donor Communications: Work with Director of Communications for the creation of compelling donor communications, including appeals, newsletters, and impact reports that demonstrate the Fund’s value and the direct impact of donor support.
- Event Management: Support fundraising events, including galas, donor receptions, and community outreach events to engage new donors and maintain relationships with current supporters.
- Tracking and Reporting: Maintain accurate donor records through the CRM and provide regular progress reports on fundraising goals, donor engagement activities, and outcomes to the Vice President of Development.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising with a proven track record of success in donor cultivation, major gifts, and program expansion.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field.
- Strong Network: Established connections within the Broward County community or experience working in the region is highly preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and effectively manage multiple priorities.
