Margaux Walker Schehr was born on December 20, 1982 and came home from the hospital on Christmas Eve in a Christmas stocking decorated with angels.
At the time, Margaux was a 7th grader at Omni Middle School and the goalie for the City of Boca Raton traveling soccer team. Margaux was so smart, so funny, so beautiful, and so well loved by her family and friends. She took her college entrance exams when she was 12, but never had a chance to go to college.
This scholarship was established in her honor and memory to be given to an outstanding student of the 8th grade. The recipient is nominated by the school that chooses a student who is a scholar, maybe an athlete too, but a student who is a leader and respected by the other students. Margaux’s memory is honored by each recipient who receives this scholarship and goes forward to attend college, achieves personal and professional goals, and is a good friend to other students.
This scholarship was established by Margaux’s mother who is comforted knowing that Margaux is still involved in helping others. When she was in the room, everyone was always laughing.
